Rollins Savanna Redux 2

The trail we wanted to check out wandered through a wooded area and over a (normally) wet cattail marsh.

It wasn’t so much a marsh at that time as an open area of cattail stumps.dried pondThe only water on the other side of the boardwalk bridge was a distant puddle:standing waterCloser to the bridge, the algae made its own kind of rainbow effect:algaeEven as dry as it was, flowers were still blooming:

Found out later this is called a compass plant

There were a lot of landscapes on this walk, so I’ll finish up tomorrow!
