Raven Glen 5 – Finally, the End!

So here we are, at the end of the Raven Glen hike.

landscape 5Literally, this pond was one of the last things I shot, just to show how low the water was.

And finally:
For anyone following my Facebook page, I posted a photo a couple days ago and asked “Where is It?” –trees

Near the start of the main trail is a half-mile grass trail loop, winding through an oak grove, quiet and peaceful.


At the entry to this loop is a stone marker, which says:

Woodland Walk

Dedicated to the memory of our children
who have gone too soon.

They touched our lives and continue to touch our hearts.

A rather poignant marker, I’d say.

And alongside this trail bloomed yellow coneflower in profusion:

So that is Raven Glen East, a former campground and now a wonderful part of the Lake County Forest Preserves! I hope you enjoyed it!
