I like to cloud-watch, because sometimes you don’t know exactly what you’ll see.
Sometimes you don’t know exactly what you are seeing.
Take today’s feature for example. I know sun dogs are reflections on the horizontal axis of the sun, like this:
But this one that I took tonight is on the vertical. In this shot, you can see the arc of the color, but it doesn’t go much further:
Wikipedia has a lot of entries under “sun dog”, but it’s a little confusing as to what they are referring to.
I mean, what is the 46° arc? the 22°? If anyone knows the correct term, I would be very grateful!
Anyway, that was the excitement today. And we grilled dinner! I love the warm weather!
